“Step out of the history that is holding you back. Step into the new story you are willing to create” – Oprah Winfrey
Own My Life is an innovative, trauma-informed 12 week course aimed at educating, supporting and empowering women to regain ownership of their lives after domestic abuse. Each session covers 6 key elements: Own My Mind, Own My Body, Own My Choices, Own My Relationships, Own My World and Own My Feelings. The course helps women to rediscover their Space for Action through problem-solving education, reflective practice, group work and their own personal Journal.
Space 4 Action are proud to be the first service on the Isle of Man to offer this programme. Women who have completed this course in the UK report that it changed their lives, changed their thought processes, helped them move on, and even saved lives.
Own My Life was written by Natalie Collins, and is governed by the Women’s Liberation Collective CIO (UK Registered charity no. 1184411) If you are interested in finding out more, 2 videos are available:

“Your trauma is valid. Even if other people have experienced “worse”…. Even if it happened a long time ago. Even if no one knows. Your trauma is real and valid and you deserve a space to talk about it…. It’s self-care. It’s inconceivably brave. And regardless of the magnitude of your struggle, you’re allowed to take care of yourself by processing and unloading some of the pain you carry…. Your experience matters. And your healing matters. Nothing and no one can take that away.” – Daniell Kopke
